Amnesty International South Africa (AISA) is conducting research to better understand the experiences of rape survivors with the South African Police Service (SAPS) between April 2020 and March 2023. This research aims to better understand survivors’ interactions with SAPS and will be used to support our advocacy, campaigning and media efforts aimed at strengthening accountability mechanisms.
The purpose of the questionnaire is to gain a broad understanding of survivors’ interactions with SAPS and what would have improved their experience, and to identify individuals who are willing to be interviewed for the research. If you feel comfortable doing so, you may share your contact details at the end of the questionnaire for us to contact you for an interview. Please note that a follow up interview is not guaranteed.
Participation in this questionnaire is entirely voluntary, and your responses will remain confidential.
There is no compensation for completing the questionnaire.
You are free to skip any questions you are not comfortable answering and can withdraw at any time.
You must be 18 years or older to participate.
